Renowned Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade recently shared the harrowing details of his near-fatal encounter with a heart attack, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing health in a candid interview with The Times of India.
The 47-year-old actor, who had never been hospitalized before, underwent angioplasty after suffering a heart attack that left him “clinically dead” for a staggering 10 minutes. Shreyas, known for his versatile roles in the Indian film industry, expressed how this health scare served as a wake-up call, highlighting the adage, ‘jaan hai toh jahaan hai’ (health is wealth).
Recounting the pivotal moment, Shreyas revealed that the incident occurred while he was on the sets of the upcoming ensemble comedy film, “Welcome to the Jungle.” Engaged in military exercises for a scene, he suddenly experienced breathlessness and intense pain in his left hand. Struggling to walk to his vanity van, Shreyas knew something was seriously wrong.
Calling it more than just a wake-up call, Shreyas urged people not to take their health for granted and emphasized the significance of regular doctor visits. Despite leading a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet and minimal drinking and smoking, he found himself facing a life-threatening situation. He also acknowledged the increasing instances of heart issues in healthy individuals post-COVID.
Shreyas stressed the need for individuals, especially those with a family history of heart ailments, to undergo regular health check-ups. He expressed gratitude towards his friends, family, and, notably, his “superhuman” wife, Deepti, for their unwavering support during his recovery.
The actor’s revelation serves as a poignant reminder that even individuals who seemingly adhere to a healthy lifestyle can be susceptible to unforeseen health crises. As Shreyas continues to recuperate at home, his experience resonates as a cautionary tale, prompting others to prioritize their well-being and remain vigilant about their health.
